Those who have been following us for a while will remember it well, but to newcomers it will sound like news.
This time a year ago, we came up with a stunt of ours that made quite a bit of noise.
After 500 Jolly and Panda 4×4, it was time to raise the bar for Garage Italia’s restomod.
And how? By proposing you our very personal idea of a non-conservative restoration of another model that has marked an era in the long, long history of the automobile.
We are talking about the Alfa Romeo Spider, for everyone (or almost) simply “Duetto”, without entering into the endless and useless debate about whether it should be called the Duetto or the Duetto. We don’t want to know anything about it.
Italian and iconic too, we presented on our social networks – almost for fun (but not really) – the first renderings to make you understand immediately where we wanted to go. And the debate about the style, the features of the car and the colors chosen for the restyling was immediately on fire.
We would have liked to hit the ground running to get our hands on it (in italy we say “partire in quarta” as fourth is the series of the iconic Spider of the “biscione” that will be the test subject), but this situation complicated things not a little, so we had to stall, and as we are made – believe us – it was not easy at all.
But here we are, the donor was already in-house, and you’ll forgive us if we show it only now, but now that we are sure to start with it so, let’s do it! What do you think?
