The dream of having a supercar in your garage, or living room if you prefer, is possible thanks to LEGO® that continues to churn out collaborations with the most important and luxurious car manufacturers. My favorites? The Bugatti Chiron and the Lamborgini Siàn FKP 37, to be assembled piece by piece!
Art form and technique lie behind the spectacular LEGO® reinterpretation of the Bugatti design. The model is a faithful representation of the original, complete with aerodynamic bodywork, spoked wheels with logo, low profile tires and detailed brake discs. The engine is a W16 with moving pistons, 8-speed transmission and moving paddle shifters, plus a steering wheel with the Bugatti emblem. Is that enough for you?
What not everyone knows, however, is that there is also one, in 1:1 scale, that can be driven. It all stems from an idea of LEGO® Senior Design Manager Jeppe Juul Jensen: to build a 5-meter long and 2.5-meter wide Bugatti Chiron using only LEGO Technic™ elements. He added, however, that the LEGO® model had to be drivable! After 6 months and 13,000 hours of work, the Bugatti Chiron LEGO® 1:1 was born. 1.5 tons of LEGO® bricks reached 20 km/h on the Bugatti test track in Germany. It was a real success.
Born instead of 9 months of close collaboration with the designers of Lamborghini, 8,660 hours of work and 400,000 Technic elements, the Lamborghini Siàn FKP 37. This is an exclusive 1:8 scale model that measures 13 cm high, 60 cm long and 25 cm wide, and is 100% realistic.
The lines are sharp, the silhouette is unmistakable and the details are stunning. Each Lamborghini is individually hand-built by the masters of Automobili Lamborghini, to ensure the level of perfection of each example, just as its founder Ferruccio Lamborghini demanded. V12 engine with moving pistons and all-wheel drive, working 8-speed transmission, moving rear spoiler, detailed disc brakes and gold wheels, and of course the unmistakable gull-wing doors. There’s really nothing missing!
Are you an F1 fan? Fear not because Lego has something for everyone!
McLaren presented in April, at the Melbourne box, a single-seater totally made of Lego. Almost 300 thousand pieces assembled in about 2 thousand hours of work, with Ricciardo and Norris in the role of special “pilots”. The Woking team has caught everyone off guard by making a gift to its fans and to all fans of the historic bricks, presenting the first McLaren single-seater made only of Lego bricks. There are about 200 thousand used to make this model, assembled in about 2 thousand hours of work. The project has worked 27 people and the model is 5.4 meters long by 2.4 wide.
The set, in the smaller version of course, can be purchased at all LEGO® stores and on the official website. The challenge is to build an authentic LEGO® Technic version of the McLaren Formula 1™ single-seater. LEGO® Group and McLaren Racing are launching a close collaboration for 2022 and just like the real car, this LEGO Technic version features a V6 cylinder engine with moving pistons, steering, suspension and differential. A 13 cm high, 65 cm long and 27 cm wide model that promises to deliver powerful thrills. Finally finish the model by adding sponsor stickers like you would see on a real F1 car.
If you are a nostalgic fan, LEGO® offers you the McLaren Senna Speed Champions model! The fantastic LEGO® version of the road car inspired by the legendary and brave driver Ayrton Senna. It comes with cockpit, removable windshield, interchangeable wheels, wheels with rubber tires, rear wing, clear headlights, and stickers with McLaren Senna and Pirelli logos. Finally, the set also includes a buildable wind tunnel with rotating fan.
If you are a Mercedes team supporter, you can have fun building the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance and Mercedes-AMG Project One. The set Includes 2 amazing Mercedes-AMG race cars, just like the real model, with lots of original Mercedes design details. Inside is everything you need to build a LEGO® replica of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance and Mercedes-AMG Project One, 564 pieces, plus 2 minifigures of the drivers. Perfect for collecting and displaying.
Formula E enthusiasts fear not, there is a perfect set for you. It’s the Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing GEN2 car & Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY. Two extremely detailed replicas of the race cars with 2 minifigures in original racing suits and a starting line with three-light traffic light.
